At Elk Grove Pediatrics, we work hard to get you the maximum coverage allowed by your insurance plan. In the event you need a formal referral, we will work our hardest to get you the appropriate referral.
We have staff members that will track the status of your referral. If your insurance plan requires a diagnosis prior to the referral being put through, we will request that you come in for an appointment. During this appointment, we will determine the best referral for your child.
If your insurance chooses not to pay for a referral because it is not a covered benefit in your plan, you can still go ahead with a consultation for your child, but it will not be paid for by your insurance.
When we submit a referral it can take a week or two before we receive an answer from the insurance company. If you have any questions about the referral process, feel free to call the front office and we will be able to assist you.
